FAVORITE THING ABOUT ONLINE?
I get to spend more time with my brother: We try new hobbies together, dance together and are there to support each other, overall.
HARDEST THING ABOUT ONLINE?
Specifically with dance, it is difficult to fully execute movements in such a small space. Because I am not dancing side by side with my peers, there is a lack of energy and inspiration that is specially demonstrated in the studio. I am also not able to learn from others right next to me and make memories with my class.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ONCE WE ARE IN PERSON?
I am simply looking forward to dancing in the same space with my senior class.
HOW HAVE YOU ADAPTED ONLINE?
Online learning has helped me manage my time better as well as learning to be more patient. I have also reached out to my peers for more support, as we try to get through these times together.
During quarantine, walking became a hobby, as it allowed me to take time away from the screens and focus on myself.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT LACHSA RIGHT NOW?
My favorite thing about LACHSA right now is the new online schedule they implemented this school year.
FAVORITE DANCE CLASS?
From all my time at LACHSA, my favorite dance class is Ms. Wendy’s ballet class in freshman and sophomore year.
FAVORITE LACHSA MEMORY?
My favorite memory is the behind the scenes of the Spring Concert. Being with all the dancers backstage in the dressing rooms has such a special feeling, as memories are made together and further brings us closer as a lachsa dance family.
PLANS FOR FUTURE/COLLEGE
In the future, I hope to get into college for dance and graduate with a BFA. My plan is to also receive a degree in Arts Management, since I would love to be involved in the business side of the arts as well.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE INCOMING FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORES YOU WISH YOU HAD?
Get out of your comfort zone and try new things! There are so many opportunities at LACHSA in and out of the dance department that I wish I tried/auditioned for.
