The commute.
HARDEST THING ABOUT ONLINE?
I miss doing my art with and around others. I miss the energy in the room.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ONCE WE ARE IN PERSON?
Being able to choreograph on classmates in person (and being choreographed on).
HOW HAVE YOU ADAPTED ONLINE?
Since adapting is a necessity, I figured out navigating online pretty quickly.
OUTSIDE HOBBY?
Reading, it can take me anywhere even in a pandemic. During lockdown I’ve read at least 10 books.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT LACHSA RIGHT NOW?
How LACHSA made the transition easier from in person to online. Everybody really tried to accommodate as best they could.
FAVORITE DANCE CLASS?
I’ve been put on the spot ... but it would be Chore/Explore with Alexa.
FAVORITE LACHSA MEMORY?
It would definitely be different if it weren’t for lockdown, but seeing my core group at Stomping Ground and being able to dance with them (together/apart) was profound and exhilarating. Really amazing.
PLANS FOR FUTURE/COLLEGE
I am going to attend a conservatory style university for a BA in dance and plan to dance and choreograph professionally for as long as possible.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE INCOMING FRESHMAN AND SOPHMORES YOU WISH YOU HAD?
Remember that foundational classes are so important, and once you’re solid with that you can explore however you want. Foundation is everything.
