FAVORITE THING ABOUT ONLINE?
With everything being online there has been a lot more time to focus on my individual work, and it made the college process a lot less stressful than I think it would have been if we were still on the regular schedule. Also getting to stay in my pajamas all day is nice.
HARDEST THING ABOUT ONLINE?
Especially for dance, it’s hard to find a quiet space to work. With my mom having online meetings, and my dog running around, it can get pretty loud around the house making it hard to focus on dancing in my living room.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ONCE WE ARE IN PERSON?
I’m looking forward to seeing all of my friends, and getting to dance in a large studio with everyone again.
HOW HAVE YOU ADAPTED ONLINE?
It wasn’t the easiest transition at first but just seeing all of my peers going through it with me and knowing I wasn’t alone has helped a lot.
OUTSIDE HOBBY?
Over quarantine, I was able to get my driver’s license so I enjoy driving around during my free time.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT LACHSA RIGHT NOW?
All of my teachers have been very accommodating and understanding about the whole situation and have taken a lot of time to check in with us individually. There are also a few projects coming up, such as Limon and the senior piece, that I’m excited about.
FAVORITE DANCE CLASS?
I always look forward to Yuka’s Graham class.
FAVORITE LACHSA MEMORY?
I miss eating lunch outside of King Hall and Luckman every day with my friends and carpooling to school with Jackie.
PLANS FOR FUTURE/COLLEGE
I’m planning on getting my BFA in dance and double majoring in movement science (pre-physical therapy).
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE INCOMING FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORES YOU WISH YOU HAD?
Try to stay on your teacher’s good sides, it’ll make high school a lot easier.
