Student Spotlight: Maegan Ung '21

Maegan Ung

NAME, GRADE, PRONOUNS

Maegan Ung, 12th Grade, She/Her

FAVORITE THING ABOUT ONLINE?

Probably the extra time we are given. Now that everything is online, classes are typically shorter and it gives me more time to explore my other interests.

HARDEST THING ABOUT ONLINE?

Definitely time management. I feel like, throughout the day, I am so tired and drained, and it’s getting harder to push myself.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ONCE WE ARE IN PERSON?

When we are in person, I hope that Covid is treated so I can give all my friends a hug. I miss being around them and just talking face to face.

HOW HAVE YOU ADAPTED ONLINE?

I honestly think that I am still learning to adapt. But, I would say that I have learned how to prioritize my assignments.

FAVORITE OUTSIDE HOBBY?

I love to bake.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT LACHSA RIGHT NOW?

My favorite thing about LACHSA would be the teachers. All of the teachers have been so kind and helped make online class much more bearable.

FAVORITE DANCE CLASS?

My favorite dance class is Fiona’s ballet class.

FAVORITE LACHSA MEMORY?

My favorite lachsa memory would have to be when the dancers went to Pittsburgh in February. It was an amazing opportunity and it was so exciting to basically live with my friends for a few days.

PLANS FOR FUTURE/COLLEGE?

I hope to get accepted into college in the first place. If I do get into college, I hope to pursue a BFA or BA in Dance and double major in Business. As for after college, time will tell.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORES YOU WISH YOU HAD?

The best advice I could give would be to take care of yourself. Of course you should always push yourself, but when you feel burnt out, don’t keep on pushing. Take time to relax and do nothing; your future self will thank you.
